Tor Support relies upon using the services of Volunteer Counsellors, and we are always happy to be contacted by people who are thinking about volunteering …
We provide a supportive and structured environment in which to gain further experience of working with children and young people and to develop your counselling skills. We often have opportunities for Volunteer Counsellors who can meet the following criteria:
- Have an understanding of the issues affecting children and young people and are able to engage effectively with people with complex needs.
- Can provide a safe, creative and confidential environment for children and young people to talk about their experiences or concerns.
- Ideally have experience of working with children and young people in either a counselling or educational setting. Membership of BACP is preferred.
- Are looking to make a difference to the lives of young people and to develop their counselling skills and experience.
Our counselling team includes a mix of very experienced practitioners and those in the early years of their career. We also work closely with a number of Devon-based training establishments to support the development of counselling skills within the area.
